The Firm has experience representing individuals and companies involved in environmental matters, ranging from civil enforcement actions brought by the Illinois Attorney General’s Office on behalf of the Illinois EPA to state and federal regulatory or criminal inquiries related to potential violations of the panoply of environmental statutes, including but not limited to RCRA and the Clean Water Act.

• The Firm represents the Mayor of the Village of Crestwood in an enforcement action brought by the Illinois Attorney General’s Office and the Illinois EPA alleging false reports and the presence of carcinogens in the Village’s water supply;

• The Firm represents high level employees in connection with the BP Deepwater Horizon oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico;Represented an engineer at an oil refinery charged with violations of the Clean Water Act for reporting false wastewater test results to the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District;
• Represented the captain of a commercial vessel being investigated for allegedly discharging contaminated waters into Lake Michigan;
• Represented a landfill owner in civil suit and criminal investigations related to potential violations of state and federal environmental laws.
